Candy Corcoran, Executive Director

Candy Corcoran, the new First 5 Sierra Executive Director, was born in Bolivia, South America and is now a naturalized US citizen. Her education includes graduating with Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Business Administration. In addition to raising her children and dedicating herself to her family, her professional life in Bolivia included time working for an international mining corporation, running her own real estate business, consulting and teaching classes at various universities. Here in the United States, since moving to Sierra County 16 years ago, she worked as the Probation Department Specialist/Drug Court Coordinator III and spent time as a substitute teacher with the local School District. You will find her in her free time volunteering and spending time at local charitable, social and sporting events.

Pauline Mbuga Barclay was born and raised in Uganda and is now a permanent resident in the U.S. She holds a bachelor's degree in procurement and logistics and has built a successful career in the procurement and accounting system, where she developed a strong passion for her work.

Pauline is a devoted wife and mother to two children and her family remains at the heart of her life. Beyond her career and family, she enjoys volunteering, particularly mentoring young girls through the Missionettes program at the Assembly of God. She also substitutes at the daycare in Sierra County, combining her professional expertise with her natural ability to nurture and guide children. Pauline’s dedication to her work, family, and community reflects her strong values and compassionate nature.
