Candy Corcoran, the new First 5 Sierra Executive Director, was born in Bolivia, South America and is now a naturalized US citizen. Her education includes graduating with Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Business Administration. In addition to raising her children and dedicating herself to her family, her professional life in Bolivia included time working for an international mining corporation, running her own real estate business, consulting and teaching classes at various universities. Here in the United States, since moving to Sierra County 13 years ago, she worked as the Probation Department Specialist/Drug Court Coordinator III and spent time as a substitute teacher with the local School District. You will find her in her free time volunteering and spending time at local charitable, social and sporting events.
